Last Monday, March 18, taking advantage of the celebration of the Alimentaria Fair in Barcelona, OCA Global has delivered the Animal Welfare certificates of the pig sector to the pig integration of Uvesa Group.
Uvesa Group has achieved the renewal of the certifications of its pig farms under the standards of the seal Compromiso Bienestar Animal B+ (owned by the interprofessional of the Spanish white layer pig - INTERPORC) and Welfair Certificate in Animal Welfare (independent certificate based on the Welfare Quality and Awin protocols, approved by IRTA and NEIKER). These certifications cover a total of more than 130 pig farms.
OCA Global would like to congratulate Grupo Uvesa for the good work it does every day on its farms and the commitment it has maintained for years with the Animal Welfare certifications. The certifications assure consumers of the good practices carried out by the company in terms of animal welfare, health, biosecurity, animal handling and traceability. In a society that is increasingly committed to sustainability and the environment, animal welfare has become a requirement when purchasing a product.
The presentation of certificates took place at the Uvesa Group's stand at the Food Fair. The certificates were collected by the General Manager of Uvesa Group, Raúl Goméz, who received them from the Director of Agri-Food Product of OCA Global, Jaime Forment, and the Head of Animal Welfare at OCA Global, David Fernandez.
